BE-STEM works to support Black graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at UCSF by:

  • Creating a safe and welcoming community
  • Representing the needs of the community
  • Advocating for their rights and interests
  • Promoting and facilitating recruitment and retention
  • Supporting professional development
