The Chamber Music Society at UCSF (CMS at UCSF) is a student-run organization dedicated to creating opportunities for UCSF student and residents to participate in chamber musical performance and community outreach. The Society encourages students and residents to share their artistic talents through free concerts at UCSF, as well as through outreach and benefit performances at local healthcare organizations such as rehabilitation and hospice care facilities. The Society organizes sight-reading sessions at the beginning of each semester for musicians to form longitudinal chamber music groups, and helps them prepare for performances at the end of each semester. In addition, the Society will engage with other UCSF artistic organizations to explore the intersection of music and medicine, as well as the role of art in the pursuit of healing.

The Cleft & Craniofacial Student Association (CCSA) is dedicated to educating and empowering students through an interprofessional approach to craniofacial care. Our mission is to foster connection and understanding between future healthcare professionals and people in the carceral system, helping to reduce stigma and build trust while educating those incarcerated about their health through meaningful engagement. Within the carceral system, individuals experience a lack of autonomy and control over their own environments. In the medical realm, this manifests as a lack of trust and engagement between people who are incarcerated and practitioners. These factors contribute to the worse health outcomes for people who experience incarceration compared to the general public. We plan to create and host medical education workshops to empower people incarcerated to participate in their healthcare while dismantling medical mistrust by creating a space for those impacted by incarceration to be heard by future medical providers. We will also host meetings to spread awareness regarding the realities of healthcare for people who are incarcerated.

Mabuhay Health Center (MHC) is a free, student-run community health clinic that aims to reduce health disparities existing within San Francisco's underserved South of Market (SoMa) district. Under the supervision of UCSF faculty preceptors, student volunteers provide health screenings, individualized patient care, health coaching, medication therapy management, and health education to both SoMa residents at the Bayanihan Community Center as well as children at Bessie Carmichael Elementary School. Mabuhay Health Center's goal is to not only provide sensitive, accessible, and quality health care, but to also provide an environment where preceptors, students, and patients can teach and learn from each other. Mabuhay Health Center also aims to evaluate health disparities within the Filipino American community and assess the effectiveness of its program and services through ongoing evaluations.

SJP@UCSF is an organization grounded in freedom, solidarity, equality, safety, and justice, focusing on elevating the student movement for Palestinian liberation. At UCSF, we aim to develop a movement that:

1) Centers justice for Palestinians amidst decades of occupation and apartheid through investing in Palestinian healthcare infrastructure and civil society as well as divestment from militarization, occupation, and apartheid.
2) Demands UCSF support sustainable structure for anti-imperial and anti-colonial work.
3) Connects with all movements advocating for health justice for communities facing oppression within and outside the United States.

Our mission is to serve the UCSF community by working to provide easy access to quality tennis courts near our campuses. Tennis is a great form of exercise that is engaging, challenging, and multifaceted for those seeking physical and strategic competition. More importantly to us, tennis is fundamentally a social sport because you cannot play without a partner. Furthermore, it can be played in a way that is low stress on the body with little fall risk, and so it can be a great outlet from youth to the sunset years. We hope that this will foster friendships and mentorships between students and faculty. This club was born during the pandemic in which the only way for students to meet one another was to engage in social distanced activities. Tennis brought many of us together, and we hope it continues to do so for years to come.

Our mission is to create community at UCSF through the sport of triathlon; to make it accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable for athletes with any goals and at any skill level.

Activities will include swimming, cycling, and running training geared towards all levels, social events, and races! Any current student, faculty, and staff of any skill level (even novices!) are welcome to join!

Word on the Wards is a program where students from UCSF health professional schools serve as health coaches for patients hospitalized at ZSFGH. Through patient education, this program aims to address low health literacy and social isolation to empower patients to be proactive about their health.

Topics that students will receive training on may include diabetes, hypertension, tobacco cessation, and alcohol use disorder. Students will have the opportunity to work with interprofessional student partners to conduct health coaching visits with patients from underserved backgrounds at a safety net hospital.
