About Us
Community of student midwives of color committed to decolonizing birth and healing our communities. Goals: A safe space to gather as student midwives of color to cross-pollinate how BIPOC practices and western medical systems intertwine and clash through exploration of our ancestral knowledge and education as future practitioners. We would like to create opportunities for members of the BIPOC communities to meet up and explore these topics and to plan a future conference of midwives of color. Types of activities: Reproductive justice events with other student orgs Hosting film screenings Hosting art events around RJ work Hosting guest lecturers on how they decolonize their birth work Planning to create a conference Host workshops and skills shares about ways to heal ourselves and decolonize birth
