About Us
We propose the UCSF Endodontic Skill Advancement Group based on UCSF School of Dentistry students' interest in the field of Endodontic. The club will develop and help facilitate students' understanding in both the academic and clinical field of Endodontic. Student members will have an opportunity to join our bi-weekly Saturday practice session. The clinical study session allows the members to practice endodontic procedure on sterilized extracted tooth with the guidance of IDP student Wendy Liang who had 5+ years of practicing experience in general dentistry and 300 + cases of root canal procedure. We will also provide Journal study session that present novel scientific articles related to the latest clinical applications/leading procedures of endodontic published by the AAE. The field of Endodontics is a specialty that heavily emphasized in experience of treatment planning and clinical practice; hence it often requires residents to have general practice experience prior to obtaining their certificate. As a pre-doctoral student Endodontic Skill Advancement Group will serve as an excellent channel to prepare students who are interested in pursuing the field of endodontic to further advance their understanding of the field and practicing hand-on skill on natural teeth.
