The Filipino American Medical Student Association (FAMSA) at UCSF is committed to advancing the well-being of the Filipino American community and broader society through advocacy and community service. By promoting cultural awareness, we strive to enhance cross-cultural humility and equip our members to provide culturally sensitive and effective healthcare. Meanwhile, we aim to create a diverse and inclusive space where all students can engage, while providing a safe and supportive environment especially for those of Filipino or Filipino American heritage to thrive academically, culturally, and professionally. We seek to provide a supportive network for members by offering mentorship, resources, and opportunities for leadership development.
