About Us

The Harm Reduction & Addiction Medicine Interest Group works to increase student exposure to harm reduction principles and practices, as it relates to addiction medicine, community/public health, and medical education.

Pre-Clinical Elective

We bring together leaders from across disciplines to teach health students how to care for people who use drugs in a person-centered approach

National Advocacy

We founded the Medical Student Harm Reduction Alliance, a national coalition of medical students committed to harm reduction, mobilizing as one

Community Outreach

In partnership with the UCSF DeLIVER Care Van, we provide students the opportunity to engage in street-based hepatitis C testing and treatment
