About Us

This is a group for UCSF Midwifery Students who want to practice mindfulness in order reduce stress, increase our resilience and self-compassion, and prevent professional burnout once we become clinicians. We will meet weekly to practice meditation and other self-care practices to help us process events related to our midwifery education. The practices will be informed by the work and mentorship of Nancy Bardacke, CNM. Nancy is the founder of the Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting program, which she teaches at UCSF's Osher Center, and Nancy will be leading several seminars to help guide what we do in the weekly group. Activities will include guided meditations and listening dyads.
