Led by Dr. Alison Huang, This session will examine the evolving evidence and clinical discourse surrounding menopausal hormone therapy (MHT), tracing its shifting role in women’s health from widespread adoption to caution and, more recently, nuanced reconsideration. Students will explore the benefits, risks, and misconceptions associated with MHT, with attention to how historical studies, media narratives, and guideline changes have shaped clinical practice and patient decision-making. Emphasis will be placed on individualized, evidence-based counseling and shared decision-making to support midlife patients navigating menopausal symptoms and long-term health outcomes.
