Details

The Pathology Student Interest Group's (PSIG) first in-person session kicks off on 09/24 with an Introduction to the Pathology Profession, led by our very own Dr. Raga Ramachandran, Professor & Director of Medical Education in the Department of Pathology. Dr. Ramachandran earned her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine as part of the Medical Scientist Training Program and completed residencies in anatomic and clinical pathology and fellowships in surgical pathology and GI/liver pathology at UCSF. She also has a role as the San Francisco site pathologist for the Hepatitis B Research Network, a consortium of hospitals with expertise in care for individuals with chronic hepatitis B virus infection.

Outside of her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Ramachandran is also very invested in pathology education. She is currently one of our confidential advisors and was a departmental career advisor in previous years at UCSF. She is especially well-versed in supporting medical students through the specialty selection and residency application process.

The views and opinions of the RCO expressed herein do not necessarily state or reflect those of the Regents of the University of California, UCSF, UCSF Health, or any entities or units thereof.
