Richard Kim, Co-President

Richard Kim is a 4th year medical student interested in epidemiology, inflammatory skin disease, complex medical dermatology, infectious diseases, and more! He is also involved in various student-run clinics serving marginalized populations in San Francisco, health policy, and education surrounding risk of UV exposure to middle/high school students of the bay. Outside of medicine, you can find Richard living by the motto "I live to eat", visiting all the delicacies the City has to offer & enjoying the various unique neighborhoods housed in the 7 by 7.

Fatuma-Ayaan Rinderknecht, Co-President

Fatuma-Ayaan Rinderknecht grew up in Davis, CA and attended Harvard University for her undergraduate degree, where she concentrated in Human Evolutionary Biology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. She is currently a 4th year medical student at UCSF. Fatuma is very passionate about dermatology, and completed a Master of Science degree, where she researched the barriers to care faced by patients with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), which is a dermatological disease that disproportionately affects women and African Americans. Her other research interests include topics at the intersection of dermatology and health disparities and increasing diversity in medicine. She co-founded a mentorship program for undergraduate students who come from backgrounds that are underrepresented in medicine, and founded an organization called "Celebrating the Skin We're In" which provides education on skin health to high school students. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, watching scary movies, and spending time with friends.

Winnie Fan, Communications Director

Winnie Fan is a 4th year medical school student at UCSF. Her passion lies in complex medical dermatology and the intersection of rheumatology and dermatology. Additionally, she has a keen interest in telehealth and is committed to addressing health disparities within dermatology.

Prior to UCSF, she grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and attended Brown University for her undergraduate with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Her research interests include morphea, connective tissue diseases, climate change and health, and teledermoscopy. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, road biking, swimming, painting, and pottery.

Bianca Obiakor, Program Director

Bianca Obiakor is a third-year medical student from Maryland. Her interests within dermatology include clinical research on inflammatory skin conditions, promoting UV-protective behaviors in communities of color and establishing best practices for treatment of natural and textured hair. In her free time, she loves to read, do yoga, and spend time at the beach!

Mekaleya Tilahun, Program Director

Mekaleya Tilahun is an MS4 at UCSF and is interested in global health dermatology, Skin of Color, and medical education. She is also passionate about mentorship and loves working with students who are underrepresented in medicine. Outside of medicine, she spends time writing, traveling, and visiting one of her 18 cousins in the Bay Area.

Xiaochen Zhong , Elective Coordinator

Xiaochen Zhong is a second-year medical student at UCSF from Shenzhen, China. She is interested in geriatric dermatology, melanoma research, and the medical humanities. Her year-long internship at the Metropolitan Museum of Art solidified her commitment to continue to explore the intersection between the arts and health. She is excited to facilitate collaborations between medical and art institutions here in San Francisco. Outside of school, you can find her roaming around various museums, fairs, and bookstores in the city!

Georgia Marquez-Grap, Secretary

Georgia Marquez-Grap (she/her) is a third year medical student from Sunnyvale, CA. She attended Wellesley College for her B.A. in anthropology, where she explored questions at the intersection of human health, biology, and culture. Georgia is particularly interested in social and environmental factors' effect on complex skin disorders. Outside of medicine, she enjoys cooking, traveling, backpacking, live music, and pickle ball.
