Mission
The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) is a professional association of pharmacists and associates who serve patients and the public by the promotion of wellness and rational drug therapy through the application of managed care principles. The Academy has more than 8,000 members nationally who provide comprehensive coverage and services to the more than 200 million Americans served by managed care. The Student Chapter at UCSF is dedicated to expanding awareness and understanding of managed care on campus. Our events are designed to educate our members about current trends in managed care, offer opportunities to interact with professionals in the field, and obtain hands-on experience through participation in projects such as the P&T Competition. In addition, we organize an annual elective course that exposes students to core concepts and career opportunities in managed care pharmacy.

According to the WHO, about 85% of waste generated by healthcare-related activities are general, non-hazardous waste.
The Alliance for Pharmacy Sustainability (APS) is an UCSF School of Pharmacy registered campus organization. Our ultimate mission is to improve quality of life for all through ensuring proper disposal and better sustainability practices for pharmacy-associated medical supplies and medications. We will work towards our goal by searching for and delivering resources to pharmacies to help reduce their waste and to educate members of our communities on proper disposal options for pharmacy-related waste. We aim to foster relationships with pharmacies to help find better solutions to reduce their waste and increase the amount of waste recycled. Additionally, we are committed to actively engaging with our community via outreach to community pharmacies and other outpatient settings to help communities understand the how's and why's of safe and ecological pharmacy-related waste disposal.
We will adapt our understanding of the best environmental sustainability practices in the field of pharmacy and healthcare as they evolve, and incorporate these changes into our education and community outreach practices. We aim to ensure the field of pharmacy is actively engaged in reducing pharmacy-related waste while practicing more sustainable habits for our communities.

The American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (formerly College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists, or CPNP) is a national organization dedicated to: Improving knowledge and awareness of psychiatric conditions, providing information on career paths in psychiatric and neurologic pharmacy, improving patient care for individuals suffering from mental illness, and promoting research in mental health awareness-related activities.

The American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is the largest pharmacy student organization at UCSF and is the student branch of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the first established and largest professional association of pharmacists in the United States; the American Pharmacists Association empowers its members to improve medication use and advance patient care.

Our state pharmacy organization, California Pharmacy Association (CPhA) is also the largest of its kind; it is the mission of the California Pharmacists Association to promote the health of the public through the practice of pharmacy.

CPhA and APhA are the only professional organizations that have members in all fields of pharmacy practice. We are the voice of the profession.

Founded in 1975, we are a student-run interprofessional RCO (registered campus organization) and one of the oldest at UCSF.

Our mission is to increase public awareness regarding AAPI health disparities and to improve health literacy in SF's underserved Asian communities. Our organization works to provide essential information resources to these populations in an effort to improve health outcomes and overall well-being. In addition, we also hold social events on campus to promote mutual understanding and friendship among all members of the UCSF community.

The student chapter at UCSF of the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists strives to promote the role of pharmacists in health-system settings and support professional and academic development.
Through various residency panels, lunch talks, and a roundtable dinner with residency coordinators, our students see the benefits and opportunities gained through post-graduate experiences. Each year, we encourage students to attend CSHP's annual conference - CSHP Seminar - so they can participate in continuing education workshops, learn from leadership development training, and pursue post-graduate training opportunities through the Residency Showcase. Our officers also work with our regional pharmacy chapter, the Golden Gate Society of Health-System Pharmacists, to give our students opportunities to network with and learn from practicing pharmacists.

The Integrative Medicine Network (IMN) at the University of California, San Francisco believes that bridging the gap between alternative and allopathic medicine will lead to the improvement of patient care and choices. The National Community Pharmacists Association, founded in 1898 as the National Association of Retail Druggists (NARD), represents the pharmacist owners, managers, and employees of more than 23,000 independent community pharmacies across the United States. The nation's independent pharmacies, independent pharmacy franchises, and independent chains dispense nearly half of the nation's retail prescription medicines.

The nation's independent pharmacists are small business entrepreneurs and multifaceted health care providers who represent a vital part of the United States' health care delivery system. They have roots in America's communities. They are community leaders actively involved in community-oriented public health, civic, and volunteer projects. Many hold local elected offices; others serve as state legislators.

Here at UCSF, NCPA strives to provide professional development to our students. Our events and elective are designed to expose students to entrepreneurship and business skills. Students from all schools are welcome.

Mission Statement:
Our goal is to promote mental and physical wellness in our community through recreational activities and educational mini-lectures. We value innovation and strive to create new and exciting opportunities for the UCSF School of Pharmacy affiliated students, faculty, and staff.

Our RCO has a unique two branch structure which consists of the Education Core and Recreational Activity Core.

The Education Core works to create mini-lectures that explore health education with an emphasis on condition/disease/disorder specific non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatments. We aim to educate patients, friends, and families in our community on the importance of recreational activities for both mental and physical wellness.

The Recreational Activity Core aims to promote mental and physical wellness, as well as team building by organizing sporting events and outdoor activities. We will provide planning and logistics for recreational activities/events that incorporate collaboration between students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the SF community.

Pharmacy Homeless Clinic seeks to provide student pharmacists opportunities to practice clinical skills and apply therapeutic knowledge towards serving patients experiencing houselessness at St. Vincent de Paul Society. Student volunteers at Pharmacy Homeless Clinic work collaboratively with preceptors in an interdisciplinary setting to interview and assess patients, create treatment plans, and counsel on both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic recommendations.

The objective of Phi Delta Chi Pharmacy Fraternity is to advance the science of pharmacy and foster fraternal spirit among its members. PDC provides student pharmacists the opportunity to network with upperclassmen and alumni. We host many events for incoming student pharmacists, such as a professional night information session of alumni working in various fields of pharmacy and informal academic review sessions. We hold fundraisers for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We give presentations to local undergraduate pre-pharmacy clubs about pharmacy school, and we hold a community service event quarterly. Because it is a national pharmacy fraternity, PDC members have the opportunity to attend leader development seminars and to network with other pharmacists and students from all over the country. Our goals are to promote professionalism within the field of pharmacy, to act as a support network for its members, and to emphasize a well-rounded pharmacy school experience.

Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) is a national pharmacy leadership society comprised of pharmacy students, practitioners, and professors. PLS was first founded in 1965 at Auburn University and, as of 2019, 127 chapters are active at pharmacy schools across the United States and Puerto Rico. Our mission is to support pharmacy leadership commitment by recognizing leaders and fostering leadership development.

The Beta Beta chapter at UCSF School of Pharmacy was established in 1993. As a leadership society, we strive to: 1) Ensure continuing availability of pharmacy leaders, 2) Acknowledge leadership achievement, 3) Enhance the skills of pharmacy leaders, and 4) Encourage sustained leadership commitment. Notable PLS Beta Beta Chapter members include B. Joseph Guglielmo, Mary Anne Koda-Kimble, Don Kishi, Sharon Youmans, Jennifer Cocohoba, Marilyn Stebbins, Lisa Kroon, and Jaekyu Shin. Currently, our chapter has ~25 student members, ~100 faculty members, and ~400 alumni.

The ACCP (American College of Clinical Pharmacy) is an international association of clinical pharmacists dedicated to promoting innovative science, developing successful models of practice, and disseminating new knowledge to advance pharmacotherapy and patient care.

The SCCP (Student College of Clinical Pharmacy) Student Chapter at UCSF aims to orient students to the practice of clinical pharmacy and clinical research by:
-Providing information to students about careers and opportunities within the field of clinical pharmacy and research.
-Promoting dedication to excellence in patient care, research, and education.
-Encouraging skill development necessary to function within an interdisciplinary and research team.

SCCP at UCSF also aims at advocating the role of clinical pharmacists within healthcare. We encourage participation in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy at the national level and/or the local/regional chapters.

Our organization is open to all graduate students. The International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) promotes the science of pharmacoeconomics (health economics) and outcomes research (the scientific discipline that evaluates the effect of health care interventions on patient well-being including clinical, economic, and patient-centered outcomes) and facilitates the translation of this research into useful information for healthcare decision-makers to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and fairness of health care to improve health. ISPOR-SC@UCSF will provide an environment where students can share knowledge in pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes research. Also, we will serve as a bridge in bringing together students interested in pharmacoeconomics and members of the pharmaceutical industry, health-related organizations, and academia. Thus, we will act as a resource for new students interested in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes research. Lastly, we will provide an opportunity for student chapter members to become familiar with the affairs of ISPOR as well as have representation in its affairs.
