About Us

The College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) is a national organization dedicated to improving knowledge and awareness of psychiatric conditions, providing information on career paths in psychiatric and neurologic pharmacy, improving patient care for individuals suffering from mental illness, and promoting research in mental health awareness-related activities. We strive to "create a world where all individuals living with mental illness, including those with substance use and neurologic disorders, receive safe, appropriate, and effective treatment."

The CPNP student chapter at UCSF is a relatively newer student organization that was founded by Julie Nguyen (Class of 2020) in 2016.

Opioid Overdose Prevention Training

COSA’s Substance Use Disorder Project is excited to invite you to our interprofessional OPIOID OVERDOSE PREVENTION TRAINING WORKSHOP! Our comprehensive training provides in-depth and hands-on practice to better prepare you to respond and take action in such scenarios. By the end of this workshop, you will gain knowledge of the opioid overdose epidemic in SF, learn harm reduction strategies, and receive new insights through an IPE discussion on stigmas surrounding opioid use. Featured guest speakers include local first responders and a survivor in long-term remission who will share their personal experiences surrounding opioid use disorder and/or overdose. The views and opinions of the RCO expressed herein do not necessarily state or reflect those of the Regents of the University of California, UCSF, UCSF Health, or any entities or units thereof.
